Residence and Work Permit Consultancy for Turkey
Maybe the most important rite of passage for foreigners settling in Turkey is the acquisition of residence or work permits. With a bit of patience or help it is not too hard to navigate the opaque bureaucracy that lies between you and your objective. But expect lots of queuing, shouting, photocopying, and filling in endless forms both on- and offline. We’ve been through this countless times ourselves, and are here to guide you through the wilderness for both residence and work permits.
Work permits are either applied for at the Turkish Consulate in your country prior to arriving in Turkey or, if you are already living in Turkey and have a residence permit, obtained within Turkey. This is usually taken care of internally by your employer. If you change your employer, you will immediately have to apply for a new work permit. Approved work permits last for one year, but can be increased to two years on first renewal, and three years at second renewal.
Residence permits are intended for spouses, retirees, investors, and other long-term residents in Turkey that are not directly employed in the country. These require a similar amount of paperwork and patience as the work permit application, the main difference being that individuals will have to go through the motions themselves.
Whatever your plans or circumstances, let us take the sting out of this particularly arduous bureaucratic hurdle. Our multilingual colleagues will coordinate with you for the collection of documents, but will do most of the work themselves and keep you updated on progress.
In addition to our permit consultancy for Turkey, you can also check out our services for legalization of documents for further information. We also offer services for appealing a residence permit decision.
